Other Resources for Victims & Survivors
Victim Information

Note, that the inclusion of the resources listed below is not an endorsement of the programs. The lists are provided so that people who are interested in “doing their own research” will have some tools to use.

Phone Numbers & Related Websites
This list provides phone numbers and website addresses (where available) for a variety of agencies whose work may be of interest to victims/survivors of violent crime or crisis, or for those who work in the field of victim assistance or crisis response.

State Crime Victim Numbers (Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault)
This list provides state-wide phone numbers for crime victim compensation agencies, which can provide information on applying for reimbursement of certain expenses incurred by victims or survivors in the aftermath of a crime. The list also include administrative phone numbers for state domestic violence and sexual assault coalitions.

Federal Agencies / Resources
This list provides phone numbers and Web site addresses for a variety of Federal government agencies whose work may be of interest to victims/survivors of violent crime or crisis, or for those who work in the field of victim assistance or crisis response.

State Victim Coalitions
This list provides Web site addresses for state victim coalitions (or networks). These coalitions are groups of victim assistance professionals and agencies that work together to improve the quantity and quality of victim services in a state.

Our Favorite New Printed Materials
This list provides suggested reading materials on a variety of victim-related topics, as recommended by NOVA staff and board members, as well as others who contact us to report on a new book or document of interest in the field. Generally, these are materials that are new enough not to be included in the bibliography or citations of a NOVA textbook (such as the basic victim assistance textbook Frontiers and Fundamentals or the National Community Crisis Response Team Training Manual) or they are known “classics” in the field.
